THE 26TH YEAR'S PROGRAM WILL INCLUDE TWO PREMIERE PERFORMANCES
We will open the festival with the premiere of the title MUCH A CRY FOR NOTHING directed by Jakub Nvota.
The play is one of the classic dramatic texts that still appeal to modern audiences with its theme and richness of character. At its core lie questions of truth and lies, love and prejudice, social pressure and individual integrity – themes that resonate as strongly today as they did four centuries ago. Jakub Nvota has already successfully collaborated with the Prague festival on the production of HOW DO YOU LIKE IT, which also toured Bratislava.
We will also premiere the title of our Prague colleagues OTHELLO, which the audience can experience in a new production directed by Braň Holíček. Many will certainly remember Othello directed by Michal Vajdička, which was part of our repertoire for five years.”
We are very happy to be able to give space to young creators as well – as part of the new cooperation, we will present a production of the non-professional ensemble Art Academy Poprad in English - WINTER'S TALE.
In addition to the new features, you can also look forward to the festival's permanent stars: THE TAMING OF A WICKED WOMAN and THE COMEDY OF ERRORS. The popular project SHAKESPEARE WITH CHILDREN will also continue.
