The Magic Returns – Summer 2026 !

The Summer Shakespeare Festival Closes Another Remarkable Chapter.
On August 6, the Summer Shakespeare Festival brought another chapter of its 25-year story to a close.
Despite all the challenges this summer had in store, the beloved festival once again captured the hearts
of theatre lovers who allowed themselves to be swept into the world of the immortal playwright.

From July 5 to August 6, nearly 15,000 visitors joined us to experience five Shakespearean titles and
22 performances out of the 25 originally planned. We were also delighted by the interest of parents and children
for our free project “Shakespeare with Children,”which we are eager to continue in the future.

It was a summer filled with powerful stories, strong emotions, laughter — and even some thrilling weather twists.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the spectators who shared the magic of Shakespeare’s plays under the open sky,
as well as to every performer and partner who made this season possible.

We can’t wait to welcome you again next summer, when the enchanting festival nights return to Bratislava Castle.

LETNÉ SHAKESPEAROVSKÉ SLÁVNOSTI OSLAVUJÚ 25 ROKOV DIVADELNEJ MÁGIE POD HOLÝM NEBOM

Letné Shakespearovské slávnosti oslavujú 25 rokov divadelnej mágie pod holým nebom. Od 6. júla do 5. augusta 2025 premení nádvorie Bratislavského hradu na divadelnú scénu plnú drámy, vášne, napätia, humoru aj poetiky päť inscenácií najväčšieho dramatika všetkých čias – Williama Shakespeara.

Štvrťstoročie so Shakespeareom oslávi festival silným a žánrovo pestrým programom, v ktorom sa predstavia tituly ako Hamlet, Komédia omylov, Skrotenie zlej ženy, Jak se vám líbí a Večer třikralový aneb Cokoli chcete. Diváci sa môžu tešiť na herecké hviezdy, kvalitnú réžiu a nezameniteľnú atmosféru letných večerov na nádvorí Bratislavského hradu.

Shakespeare je viac než len autor z minulosti. Jeho hry prekračujú hranice času, národov a kultúr. Riešia témy, ktoré sú stále aktuálne – túžbu po moci, morálku, lásku, žiarlivosť a iné ľudské slabosti.

Na programe festivalu nebude chýbať bezplatný projekt SHAKESPEARE S DEŤMI, určený najmenším divákom, budeme s nimi cez víkendy stretávať nielen na hrade, ale aj v priestoroch námestia Eurovea

„Tento festival vznikol z lásky k divadlu a k textom, ktoré aj po viac než 400 rokoch dokážu osloviť moderného diváka. 25 rokov festivalu je dôkazom toho, že Shakespeare je stále živý, aktuálny a neuveriteľne divácky príťažlivý,“ hovorí riaditeľka festivalu Janka Zednikovičová.
